This evening I will be using my most recent commentary for CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) and recent disturbing news reports and other sources of information to provide clarity to the issue of how failures to effectively enforce immigration laws and secure our borders (all of our borders) goes grave harm to community safety and national security.

First of all, earlier today CAPS posted my commentary that was predicated on an ICE news release that was entitled:

While the ICE news release touted the deportation of the leader of a large-scale alien smuggling network, you will want to know what has been done by ICE to locate the more than 100 smuggled aliens- you may (or may not) be surprised!

On December 24, 2012 I received a brief e-mail from a former colleague at the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) who is also a retired Senior Special Agent.

On December 21, 2012 ICE posted a news release about the arrest and deportation of a criminal alien from Mexico who had been convicted of “Voluntary Manslaughter” in the United States and was wanted for allegedly committing a murder in Mexico. The point is that our country is not only threatened by illegal aliens who surreptitiously enter the United States by evading the inspections process but by aliens who are lawfully admitted into the United States and succeed in gaming the “legal” immigration system.

This is the same “legal” system that would be tasked with processing millions or, more likely, tens of millions of illegal alien applicants for amnesty if proponents for such a wrong-headed program manage to foist that disastrous program upon the United States!

Among these aliens are so-called “sleeper” agents. There has been a long list of foreign nationals who have gamed the visa process and immigration benefits program

in order to enter the United States, hide in plain sight (embed themselves in the parlance of the 9/11 Commission) and engage in terrorist-related activities.

While we are on the topic of sleeper agents, you should know that a recent Congressional report focused on the interaction of terrorist and narcotics trafficking organizations and sleeper agents. Additionally, recently Rep. Sue Myrick spoke about her concerns about sleeper agents when participating in a recent radio interview that was posted on the WND Website and be found at:

Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., asserted in a radio interview today she believes it’s possible that Hezbollah, the radical terrorist organization tied to Iran, may be working with Mexican cartels to funnel not only drugs, but also terrorist sleeper agents into the U.S.

“Former [Defense Intelligence Agency] people and others have told me what is going on, there have been a couple of arrests in this country relative to people who have had ties to Hezbollah or Iran, and my concern has been with the drug cartels and the gangs that are operating in Mexico,” Myrick said. “There is, what I have been told, a very strong presence there of coordination between the two.”

The immigration laws are supposed to achieve two primary goals- to protect American lives and protect Americans’ jobs.

Our nation is greatly benefited by the rich diversity of our people which is why I could never imagine living anywhere except New York City, arguably the most diverse city in our nation if not, in fact, the world. However, my idea of diversity most certainly does not include members of MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels or members of other transnational gangs or members of al-Qaeda or other terrorist organizations!

It is also vital that American workers never be made to compete with foreign workers for their jobs! (This requirement is a component of the Immigration Laws that are not being enforced today!)

If our government’s failures to secure our nation’s borders and effectively enforce our immigration laws that are intended to protect our nation and our citizens concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

We the People must make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!
