"Refugee Resettlement Program Raises Unsettling Issues" – My commentary for CAPS

Hi Gang:

Kindly forward this e-mail to as many folks as you can and then ask those to whom you send this to forward it on to as many folks as they can.  I am attempting to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth” and need your help!
America’s immigration laws were enacted to achieve two primary goals- protect innocent lives and the jobs of American workers.  While just about every politician promises to create jobs, the reality is that our nation will never create enough good jobs to get America back on track when our nation admits many more foreign workers who are lawfully entitled to work in the United States, than the number of new jobs that are created.
Furthermore, as the candidates for the 2016 Presidential election make their statements, it is clear that Donald Trump’s statements about immigration have compelled his competitors to make statements that sound may sound tough, but we need to carefully assess what they are really offering.
In my commentary today, I have taken a hard look at the national security implications of the resettlement of refugees from Syria and other Middle Eastern countries pose to the United States and the concerns these issues have raised with residents of towns where some of these refugees are to be resettled.  Just last week I addressed the residents of Spartanburg, South Carolina and was provided with all of three minutes to address their county council on the issue of the resettlement of refugees in their community.  The residents of Spartanburg had requested that they be permitted to yield their allotted speaking time to me so that I could provide my professional perspectives.  Although they were initially told this could be done, when the meeting was convened, the imperious chairman of the council refused to adhere to this arrangement.
(The council meeting was in and of itself, emblematic of the way that our political representatives have come to see constituents as speed bumps to their goals, rather than the folks whose welfare should be their focus.  This is why political “outsiders” are being preferred over career politicians.)
I am greatly disturbed by the violence being carried out against Christians and others in the Middle East by ISIS, al Nusra and other terrorist organizations.  I relate all too well to their plight- my grandmother for whom I was named was killed in Poland during the Holocaust.  Many other family members were similarly killed because of our religion- we are Jews.  However, given the chaotic situation in the Middle East and the adversarial relationship that exists between the United States and the leaders of Syria and other countries in that war-torn region- there is no reliable way for our government to effectively vet those claiming to flee the violence.  Simply stated- you cannot tell the good guys from the bad guys without a scorecard and there are no trustworthy scorecards!
My most recent commentary was posted on the Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) website on September 30, 2015.

Our borders and our immigration laws constitute America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorist organizations and transnational gangs and criminal organizations.  For decades politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties have thrown their oaths of office, commonsense and morality to the wind for campaign contributions.

Now they have been forced to address immigration- the issue they have sidestepped for years.
Here are links to a few of my recent commentaries that provide a bit of additional background into the true importance of our immigration laws.  These laws and our borders have never been more important as ISIS and other terror organizations continue their murderous rampage across the Middle East and elsewhere.  These terrorists would love nothing better than to carry out a major attack in the United States:
The current (Summer 2015) edition of The Social Contract included my article:
On February 25, 2015 The Daily Caller published my article:
My opinion piece was predicated on a February 12, 2015 ABC News report, “U.S. Officials Admit Concern Over Syrian Refugee Effort.”
On April 24, 2015 CAPS posted my article:

On April 16, 2015, a Federal Grand Jury in the Southern District of Ohio (Eastern Division) handed up a criminal indictment charging a naturalized United States citizen, Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud a/k/a “Ayanle,” a native of Somalia, with three federal crimes: 18 U.S.C. 2339A – Providing Material Support to Terrorists (Count 1) 18 U.S.C. 2339B – Providing Material Support to a…

On February 24, 2015 Progressives For Immigration Reform posted my commentary about a naturalized United States citizen who was born in Somalia, has recently been placed on the FBI’s “Most Wanted Terrorists List.”  The title of my piece is:
On March 9, 2015, The Daily Caller published my commentary on the abject lack of integrity to the process by which applications for a wide variety of immigration benefits undermines national security and public safety.  You may be surprised to learn just how dysfunctional this system is and how it poses a serious threat to our nation and our fellow Americans.
The title of my piece is:

Any discussion about any component of the immigration issue must begin by considering the findings and recommendations and, indeed, warnings of the 9/11 Commission.  On March 10, 2015 FrontPage Magazine published my article,

Ignoring the 9/11 Commission’s Warnings » Even as terrorists expand operations in Europe.

On January 23, 2015 FrontPage Magazine published my article:

I addressed the many components of the dysfunctional immigration system that go well beyond the obvious failure of the administration to secure the border that is supposed to separate the United States from Mexico in my July 6, 2015 article for the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s FrontPage Magazine:

Border Security and the Immigration Colander– Why the breakdown of the Southwest border is only the tip of the iceberg.

I have come to compare the issue of securing the US/Mexican border with a wing on an airplane.  Without the wing, the airplane will not, of course, fly.  However, a wing by itself goes absolutely nowhere!  We have 50 border states and the key issue is to address the abject lack of integrity to entire immigration system.

The importance of our borders and our immigration laws cannot be overemphasized.  In the war on terror and transnational gangs, they are our first line of defense and our last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.  They are equally important to American workers who are facing unfair competition from foreign workers, aided and abetted by the administration and advocates for “Sanctuary Cities” and Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

The starting point for any conversation or legislation concerning immigration must be the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission which determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.

In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.

It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!

If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
