“Partnership for a New American Economy” / Ganging up on American Families

Hi Gang:

Advocates for Comprehensive Immigration Reform claim that unless America imports brilliant people from around the world to do the jobs Americans are too dumb to do, America will not be able to compete.  This is an outrageous example of reverse xenophobia.  However, when you consider the crop of “leaders” who have been elected to represent We the People around the United States, whether we consider the federal, state or local level, a case could be made about the stupidity of the average American voter!
My commentary today shines a spotlight on Rick Snyder the governor of the state of Michigan.  He is only one of a long list of candidates for the “Hall of Shame” but he is the politician who has drawn attention to himself by making outrageous statements.  Therefore, having made his duplicity or stupidity abundantly clear, I feel the obligation to call him out.
Perhaps he needs to remember the sage advice that when you are standing in a deep hole and want to get out- you need to stop digging!
Note that he made his incomprehensible remarks when he spoke before billionaires who in creating the “Partnership for a New American Economy” apparently seek to eliminate the middle class in this new economy they are scrambling to create!  Perhaps the governor was hoping they would provide him with campaign contributions for his next run for re-election!
I wrote the commentary that is attached, in its entirety, to the bottom of this e-mail for CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization).

Partnership for a New American Economy”

        Ganging up on American Families

I was interviewed by Neil Cavuto at Fox News on June 13, 2013 on the topic:

The interview ran about 4 minutes and is worth watching.  In fact, you may want to forward the link to all of the members of Congress who support providing unknown millions of illegal aliens with lawful status in the United States.

On July 2, 2013 the Washington Times published my Op-Ed:

My piece, in its entirety, is attached to the bottom of this e-mail.
In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.
Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.
It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!

If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!

Partnership for a New American Economy”

Ganging up on American Families

Michael W. Cutler, Senior Special Agent, INS (Ret.)

Senior Fellow, Californians for Population Stabilization

The January 24, 2014 edition of the Huffington Post ran a report entitled:

“Rick Snyder: Fix The ‘Dumb System’ For Immigration”

Snyder is the governor of the state of Michigan. He was quoted in the above-noted article as saying,

The status quo is dumb, and not fixing it for political reasons would be even dumber.

“To be blunt, we have a dumb system,” he said during remarks on immigration, using a phrase he’d repeat a few times. “Why would we build the dumb system that we have today to say, we don’t want you here?”

The article also contained this paragraph:

Snyder praised the Senate’s bipartisan immigration efforts last year, and has continued to argue that reform would be beneficial for the United States. He spoke Thursday in Detroit about the need for immigration reform, promising to request 50,000 visas over the next five years for highly skilled immigrants who would move to the city. In that speech, he similarly called the system “dumb,” including the failure to give work visas to people who receive college degrees in the U.S. “We have a federal program that tells them to get out,” he said Thursday. “How dumb is that?”

What is not only dumb but reprehensible, is that he wants to see foreign students educated in the United States and provided with work visas, but could not apparently care less about providing education and opportunities for American kids living in poverty under his own nose in his very own state!

According to the article he made that statement at an event that was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Republicans for Immigration Reform and an organization created by Bloomberg and other billionaires, known as the “Partnership for a New American Economy.”

It is incomprehensible that the governor of the state of Michigan can be so stupid or morally bankrupt that he cannot look at the abject poverty of the bankrupt Detroit, a city he may want to forget is located in his state, and believe that the way to get American workers in his state back to work is by making them compete with millions of additional aliens he would provide with lawful status, hence an equal right to the jobs that the citizens of his state desperately need.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform would, indeed, create a “New American Economy.” An economy where education and effort will be far less likely to be rewarded with higher wages and opportunities for the “American Dream.”

One of the sections of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) is Title 8, United States Code, Section 1182 which enumerates the categories of aliens who are to be excluded. Among these classes are aliens who suffer from dangerous communicable diseases or extreme mental illness. Additionally convicted felons, human rights violators, war criminals, terrorists and spies are excluded as well as aliens who would seek unlawful employment or become public charges.

This afore-noted section of the INA also excludes aliens seeking employment in the United States unless:

(I) there are not sufficient workers who are able, willing, qualified (or equally qualified in the case of an alien described in clause (ii)) and available at the time of application for a visa and admission to the United States and at the place where the alien is to perform such skilled or unskilled labor, and

(II) the employment of such alien will not adversely affect the wages and working conditions of workers in the United States similarly employed.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform would provide for a huge increase in foreign high tech workers and would no longer protect American workers from unfair foreign competition. This is precisely what Alan Greenspan called for when he testified before

On October 20, 2012 CAPS posted my commentary:

“Leveling the Playing Field for American Workers”

In that commentary I quoted Alan Greenspan, when he testified before a 2009 hearing conducted by the U.S. Senate’s Subcommittee on Immigration, chaired by the chief advocate for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, Senator Chuck Schumer.

During his testimony he stated, in part:

“…The second bonus (in accelerating the influx of skilled immigrant workers) would address the increasing concentration of income in this country. Greatly expanding our quotas for the highly skilled would lower wage premiums of skilled over lesser skilled. Skill shortages in America exist because we are shielding our skilled labor force from world competition. Quotas have been substituted for the wage pricing mechanism. In the process, we have created a privileged elite whose incomes are being supported at non-competitively high levels by immigration quotas on skilled professionals. Eliminating such restrictions would reduce at least some of our income inequality.”

Apparently for the elitist Michigan governor, immigration laws that protect American workers and their families are “dumb!”

There are some choice words that could be appropriately used to describe him and his cohorts who seek to plunge even more American workers and their families below the poverty line and endanger national security at the same time! Words far worse than “dumb” come to mind.
