"Human Capital – America’s most fundamental and significant resource" – my article for The Social Contract

Hi Gang:
Kindly forward this e-mail to as many folks as you can and then ask that those to whom you send this do the same- I am attempting to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth!”
As you may know, I write articles that focus on many aspects of the immigration issue for a number of terrific organizations.  One of those organizations publishes a quarterly journal, “The Social Contract.”  The most recent edition of this publication (Winter 2015) was just published and was also posted on its website.  This edition of The Social Contract takes on the issue of immigration and vanishing resources and included my article that makes note of a fact rarely discussed, that our citizens are America’s most important resource.
Here is the link to my article:

This was also the underlying theme of my recent article for Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS):

An unusual and disturbing trend has been occurring in the rhetoric of many of our politicians that has apparently gone unnoticed by most Americans- the way that these supposed elected representatives have been saying that the United States must provide opportunities for foreign students to be educated in our schools and that once they are educated we should “staple Green Cards onto their diplomas.”  Another phrase that should be of concern postulates that the United States must seek to import the best and brightest people from around the world so that America can insure its position of leadership in the world.  What they are blithely ignoring is the fact that the “Best and Brightest” (and most productive) have always been American workers!
These statements by the duplicitous politicians should be disconcerting to all citizens of the United States because they make it clear that these politicians are separating America from Americans.  Abraham Lincoln spoke about the United States as being a nation “…of the people, by the people and for the people.”
Politicians who talk about America leading by importing foreign students and foreign workers obviously do not hold their fellow citizens in high esteem, nor do they really care what happens to their fellow citizens.  They are selling out their constituents!
This is the underlying motivation behind Comprehensive Immigration Reform- to flood the labor market with millions of foreign workers across a wide swath of careers and professions including the jobs of America’s middle class.  The goal- to drive down wages.
This is both disconcerting and disgusting.
There is a conundrum about trading freedom for security that was addressed by Benjamin Franklin when he said, “Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”  These politicians are more than willing to trade the security provided by secure borders and effective immigration law enforcement for cheap labor to satisfy the demands of their major campaign contributors.

The U.S. Department of Labor regularly issues unemployment statistics and currently publish meaningless statistics that claim that our nation’s unemployment rate is well below 6% while everyone knows that these statistics ignore the plight of tens of millions of unemployed and under-employed American workers and their struggling families.  In more ways than one, these Americans do not count!
On February 17, 2015 CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted my most recent commentary:

Effective Immigration Law Enforcement is ‘Pro-Immigrant,’ Compassionate

In October 2014 Progressives For Immigration Reform published my policy brief:
video of my presentation of my policy brief at the Progressives For Immigration Reform conference in November 2014 has been posted on You Tube.
On November 15th I was honored to join three true leaders in the United States Congress in a panel discussion on immigration- Senator Jeff Sessions and Congressmen Louis Gohmert and John Fleming.  A video of this panel discussion has been posted on the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s website under the title,

“Immigration Wars”

I urge you to take the time to watch that video.
The Winter, 2014 Edition of The Social Contract included my article:
In December 2011 “Dan Rather Reports” aired a disconcerting hour-long report on how highly educated and experienced American computer programmers are being replaced by programmers from India. The report was titled:

Rather Reports: No thanks for everything”

On May 15, 2007 a four minute infuriating video was aired on “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on CNN. It features an immigration lawyers’ conference in which lawyers were being coached to not find qualified U.S. workers!” The lecturer is identified in the video as being Lawrence M. Lebowitz, the Vice President of Marketing for the firm of Cohen & Grigsby.

While Americans are losing their jobs and falling from middle class to poverty as a consequence, it is clear that this is precisely what Alan Greenspan and others, in and out of government want.

On July 22, 2014 FrontPage Magazine, published by the David Horowitz Freedom Center, published my article:

The real reason high-tech titans are lining up behind the amnesty effort.

On October 20, 2012 CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted my commentary:

“Leveling the Playing Field for American Workers”

My commentary contained the following- including a quote from Greenspan as he testified at the behest of Senator Chuck Schumer- one of the “Gang of Eight” (more properly with gangsters) and a key architect of the disastrous 1986 Amnesty:

Comprehensive Immigration Reform would provide for a huge increase in foreign high tech workers and would no longer protect American workers from unfair foreign competition. This is precisely what Alan Greenspan called for when he testified at a hearing conducted by the U.S. Senate’s Subcommittee on Immigration, chaired by the chief advocate for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, Senator Chuck Schumer on the topic:

“…The second bonus (in accelerating the influx of skilled immigrant workers) would address the increasing concentration of income in this country. Greatly expanding our quotas for the highly skilled would lower wage premiums of skilled over lesser skilled. Skill shortages in America exist because we are shielding our skilled labor force from world competition. Quotas have been substituted for the wage pricing mechanism. In the process, we have created a privileged elite whose incomes are being supported at non-competitively high levels by immigration quotas on skilled professionals. Eliminating such restrictions would reduce at least some of our income inequality.”

The term “Income Equality” has become a virtual mantra with so many journalists, talk show hosts and others.  Most folks seem to think that income equality means raising the wages of middle class workers to narrow the gap between the middle class and the super wealthy.  Go back and read that quote from Mr. Greenspan- for him and for Chuck Schumer and all too many of our politicians, the goal of “Income Equality” is to narrow the difference between highly skilled workers (workers with advanced degrees- especially STEM professionals) and the poor by “lowering the wage premiums” being paid to highly educated American workers by subjecting those workers to foreign competition.
On June 13, 2013 I was interviewed by Neil Cavuto at Fox News on the topic:

The interview ran about 4 minutes and is worth watching.

CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted my commentary that asks the questions all Americans need to ask their political “representatives.”  My commentary is aptly titled:  “How? Why?

In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.

The findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission must be the starting point for any discussion about immigration legislation.  That commission determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program, enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.  In point of fact, our borders and our immigration laws are America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.
It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!
If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
