"The Real Cost of the Administration’s Reckless, Lawless Immigration Policies" – My commentary for CAPS

Hi Gang:

Kindly forward this e-mail to as many folks as you can and then ask those to whom you send this to forward it on to as many folks as they can.  I am attempting to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth” and need your help!
Please remember to tune into my radio show, “The Michael Cutler Hour” on BlogTalk Radio on Friday evenings at 7:00 PM, Eastern Time, and find podcasts of my previous programs at:
America’s immigration laws were enacted to achieve two primary goals- protect innocent lives and the jobs of American workers.
Today my commentary for CAPS is predicated on the hearing that was conducted on April 19, 2016 by the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security.  The focus of the hearing was the President’s apparent utter disregard for the lives of innocent people inside the United States, who have fallen victim to hundreds of thousands of criminal aliens currently at large across the United States.
What is astounding is how many criminal aliens who had been in custody were not deported but simply released into the various immigrant communities around the United States.
I want you to stop and give thought to how many police officers and federal agents were involved in investigating these criminals in the first place.  I want you to consider how costly and dangerous these law enforcement activities are.  Now I want you to consider how totally insane it is for the administration to turn these criminals lose on the streets of towns and cities across the United States even as the administration demands to impose more restrictions on firearms ignoring what should be obvious- criminal aliens including gang members and narcotics traffickers cause a disproportionate number of the deaths and violent crimes across our nation.
If the administration was truly concerned about public safety, it would stop at nothing to keep these criminal aliens, gang members and aliens who may be involved with terrorist organizations from ever walking freely among us- yet the precise opposite is now occurring as a matter of routine.
While much has been made of the need for demonstrating “compassion” for illegal aliens, there is no consideration being given to the victims of the crimes committed by these aliens.  The victims, it must be pointed out- are at least as likely to be members of various immigrant communities as are American citizens.
The hearing is one that I urge you to watch in its entirety.  The obvious anger of the two mothers of young Americans who were killed by aliens who were illegally present in the United States is entirely understandable.  The statements of members of the congressional committee were blunt and crystal clear.
Every American must watch this hearing!
Today, anyone who would dare suggest that our borders should be secured against the entry of aliens who have inherent right to enter the United States and pose a threat to our safety and/or well being are quickly branded “Anti-Immigrant” and accused of being xenophobes or worse.
This is a blatant attempt at intimidation that must be rejected!  The demand for secure borders and effective enforcement of our immigration laws is a “Pro-Enforcement” position.  Under our immigration laws that we must enforce, the United States admits roughly one million lawful immigrants each year and naturalized hundreds of thousands of new United States citizens.  Being “Pro-Enforcement” is to be “Pro-Immigrant!”
Recently while watching a rerun of a comedian Lewis Black’s routine on HBO I noted that he referred to 11 million illegal aliens.  The program was originally broadcasted during the George W. Bush administration.  It dawned on me that for roughly a decade, no matter how many aliens run our borders- including the infamous surges of “unaccompanied minors” and the estimated half million aliens who violate the terms of their lawful admission into the United States each year- the number never of illegal aliens never increases!
John Adams was correct- “Facts are stubborn things!”

I am frequently interviewed by journalists and by students.  When I use the term “alien” they become uncomfortable as though I had just used the outrageous “N Word.”  They have been influenced into believing something that is utterly false by the constant barrage of deceptive language used by journalists who should be willing to use honest and neutral language but either lack the courage or have an agenda that they are promoting.

When I ask those who express discomfort with my use of the word alien if they know what the legal definition of that term is, most times they admit that they have no idea how the law defines that supposedly problematic term.

Once I quote the definition of that term as it appears in the law- all objections generally stop.  Most actually express surprise at the actual definition and  some have told me that they were confused as to why the term alien has fallen into such disrepute where anyone who dares utter that word is castigated and accused of bigotry or even worse.

Some have attributed this sort of nonsense to being Politically Correct.

Let me dispel myth.  This is not about being “Politically Correct.”  I am, in point of fact, mindful of the need to be politically correct (PC).  Being PC is to not seek to insult or humiliate another person.

Use of misleading language to achieve a political goal is what propaganda is all about.  George Orwell, the author of that brilliant novel, “1984” included in that novel about a totalitarian state, the concept of Newspeak the point being that if you eliminate certain words you can eliminate certain thoughts.

Here are two of his amazing quotes:

Here are links to a few of my recent commentaries that provide a bit of additional background into the true importance of our immigration laws.  These laws and our borders have never been more important as ISIS and other terror organizations continue their murderous rampage across the Middle East and elsewhere.  These terrorists would love nothing better than to carry out a major attack in the United States:
The Summer 2015 edition of The Social Contract included my article:

The 9/11 Commission Report and Immigration: An Assessment, Fourteen Years after the Attacks

Our borders and our immigration laws are also supposed to not only protect the lives of Americans but the livelihoods of American workers.

The importance of our borders and our immigration laws cannot be overemphasized.  In the war on terror and transnational gangs, they are our first line of defense and our last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.  They are equally important to American workers who are facing unfair competition from foreign workers, aided and abetted by the administration and advocates for “Sanctuary Cities” and Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

On June 13, 2013 I was interviewed by Neil Cavuto at Fox News on the topic:

The interview ran about 4 minutes and is worth watching.

The starting point for any conversation or legislation concerning immigration must be the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission which determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.

In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.

It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!

If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
