Hi Gang:
On Tuesday, February 7th I will, as I usually do on Tuesday mornings, from 8:00 AM until, 8:30 AM Eastern Standard Time, be a guest on the excellent Helen Glover Show which is broadcast on Providence, Rhode Island’s Radio Station, WHJJ.
Today we will discuss the ongoing saga of the ATF investigation that was code-named, “Operation Fast & Furious” under which it is believed more than 2,000 high-powered, fully functioning firearms were permitted to walk- out of gun shops in the United States and the waiting hands of members of the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels. One of those weapons has now been linked to the cold-blooded murder of United States Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry on December 14, 2010 just hours before that American hero and member of the elite BORTAC Unit was planning to board an airliner to take a well earned Christmas break to spend the holidays with his family. Brian was also a member of the United States military who had served in the Middle East, putting his own safety at risk in both capacities, as a member of the military and as a member of the Border Patrol, in order to protect our nation and our citizens. News reports published last week indicated that his family has filed a $25 million wrongful death lawsuit against the federal government.
We also plan to discuss how under the growing threat of Iran assembling and deploying nuclear weapons Israel and/or the United States and other countries may determine that military action is necessary to prevent Iran from joining the “Nuclear Club.” Iran’s president has stated that if his country is attacked that Iran will attack the United States. In response the Obama administration is now raising concerns about the potential that “sleeper agents” from Iran may already be present in the United States awaiting orders to wreck havoc inside our borders. The threat of “sleeper agents” is not new and, in fact, shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 Robert Mueller, the Director of the FBI testified on Capitol Hill about his concerns about such sleeper agents. I have also made ample note of my concerns about sleeper agents when I testified before Congressional hearings 6 years ago.
Yet neither the administration of George W. Bush nor Barrack Obama acted to truly secure our borders having concerns about trade trump national security. A Pentagon report published more than a year ago noted that there was a growing number of Iranian Shock Troops, the Qods, stationed in Venezuela while it has been long known that there are terrorist training camps in the Tri-Border Region where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay abut. Incredibly, within the past week or so, President Obama went to Disney World in Florida to tout the idea of adding Brazil to the list of some 35 other countries that participate in the dangerous Visa Waiver Program!

The practice of good citizenship does not end in the voting booth, it only begins there.
The collective failure of We the People to get involved in make our concerns known to our politicians have nearly made the concerns of the great majority of the citizens of this nation all but irrelevant to the politicians. I implore you to get involved!
I believe our nation’s is greatly benefited by the rich diversity of our people which is why I could never imagine living anywhere except New York City, arguably the most diverse city in our nation if not, in fact, the world. However, my idea of diversity most certainly does not include members of MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels or members of other transnational gangs or members of al-Qaeda!
I also believe that the original purpose of our nation’s immigration laws need to be be brought “front and center” to make certain that our nation does not permit the entry of aliens into our country whose presence in our country is problematic for the citizens of our nation and that if such aliens do succeed in entering our country that our nation have the resources, integrity and dedication to do everything possible to make it impossible for such aliens to function within our country so that even if they are not apprehended, they will find it pointless to remain in the United States.
As I have noted on a number of occasions, “No one would break into the amusement park if they could not get to go on the rides and no one remains in the amusement park at the end of the day when they turn shut down the rides and turn off the lights!”
If our government’s failures to secure our nation’s borders and effectively enforce our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!
We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.
This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!
You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!
Democracy is not a spectator sport!
