The news programs this morning have been leading off their respective programs with the enthusiastic reporting about how the Congressional bipartisan “working group” have announced plans to ram “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” through the process. President Obama is expected to give a speech tomorrow where he will outline his plans and Senator Marco Rubio a Republican from Florida is expected to provide his plan to essentially compete with Obama’s plan in providing amnesty to unknown millions of illegal aliens.
On November 15, 2012 CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted a commentary I had written about Senator Chuck Schumer’s immigration platform. The title of my commentary was:
I think you know where I stand on this issue!
If ever there was a time for you to reach out to your elected representatives, especially your Congressional representatives in both houses of Congress, this is the time!
I plan to provide you with the facts you must have to enable you to provide a clear and convincing set of arguments to your political representatives.
In my judgement, providing millions of illegal aliens with pathways to citizenship will do irreparable damage to national security and dump millions of newly authorized workers into a labor pool that is already unable to find jobs that will enable them to continue to adequately support themselves and their families.
This is not about xenophobia or racism as the open borders advocates often claim. it is, in fact, America’s minorities that are suffering the worst under the current economic conditions and their plight is about to get lots worse if Comprehensive Immigration Reform or similar legislation with a different name is enacted.
Immigration is not a single
issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!
Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within!
If our government’s failures to protect innocent lives and the jobs of American workers by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!
We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.
This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!
You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!
Democracy is not a spectator sport!
