old murder in Texas"

Hi Gang:

Today’s commentary is predicated upon an article I wrote for the CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) website several days ago.  That commentary focused on an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) news release that heralded the arrest, on April 12, 2012 of a twice deported illegal alien, Jesus Blas-Perea aka Severino Tapia Rosales who is wanted for for the 1981 murder of Jose Santos-Duque in Houston, Texas.

Time and again the open borders anarchists talk about how politicians who seek to curry favor (and votes) of American Latinos must provide pathways to United States citizenship to unknown millions or, perhaps, tens of millions of illegal aliens who are currently present in the United States.  I have often countered this absurd assertion by pointing out that the folks who are most at risk from the entrance of illegal aliens who are engaged in criminal activities are the members of the ethnic immigrant communities who are of the same ethnicities and origins of the transnational criminals who evade the inspections process in order to enter the United States in order to ply their “trades” in our country.  This not only applies to the Latino communities but to ethnic immigrant communities that literally span the world.

The case of Jesus Blas-Perea, aka Severino Tapia Rosales, reportedly an illegal alien from Mexico, provides a prime example of the dangers that failures to secure our nation’s borders and enforce our immigration laws creates for members of the Latino community.  In this case, the murder victim was Jose Santos-Duque, an apparent member of the Latino community.

At the time of his arrest, Jesus Blas-Perea was found in Maryland.  It is likely he was living within the Latino community of that state.  There was no mention of any other crimes that he may have been involved in committing, but it is likely that the folks in the community in which he was living prior to his arrest are breathing a “sigh of relief!”

It is interesting that the field operation under which he was arrested was Operation “Find ‘Em.”  I would suggest that ICE and the administration should consider initiating a field operation with a slightly different name- Operation “Hold ‘Em!”  The program known as “Catch and Release” not only applies to Border Patrol arrests but to the approach that DHS has taken where a large number of illegal aliens are concerned!

With all of the discussions about “fairness” and illegal aliens- isn’t it time that the concept of fairness should be focused, first and foremost, on United States citizens and aliens who are lawfully present in the United States?
The time has long since passed for the citizens of our nation to make it clear to our political leaders that we will no longer tolerate the lunacy of extremely porous borders and immigration laws that go unenforced.

Show me a politician who refuses to enforce the immigration laws or attempts to trivialize these laws, and I will show you a politician who needs to find out what it is like to stand on the unemployment line!

Benjamin Franklin, in discussing our then fledgeling nation, said that they had given us a republic if we could keep it!

What he was making clear was that this democratic republic required that its citizens take their citizenship seriously and keep the political leaders accountable.

It is time for the citizens of our nation to make certain that our nation’s leaders, on all levels, to come to terms with the fundamental fact that the purpose of our immigration laws is to protect our nation and our citizens from aliens whose presence has the potential to have a serious adverse impact.  Ignoring those laws exposes our nation and our citizens to a variety of serious threats and challenges ranging from national security and criminal justice and public safety to the economy, the environment, healthcare and education!

A country without secure borders can no more stand than can a house without walls!

I

our country is to survive and if our children and their children are to get their share of the “American Dream” the citizens of this nation must take their citizenship seriously!

We the People must be the best citizens we can be, citizens who are worthy of the gallantry demonstrated by our valiant men and women in the military, law enforcement and firefighters, who routinely go in harm’s way in defense of this nation and our citizens.
My goal in writing this and other commentaries is to point out our nations many failings before more victims pay the ultimate price for the incompetence and ineptitude of our government.
The first step in problem-solving is to first identify the problems and vulnerabilities and then devise strategies to overcome them.

If you find yourself to be in agreement with this commentary, I ask that you forward it to as many of your friends and family members as possible and encourage them to do the same.  We need to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth!”

The practice of good citizenship does not end in the voting booth, it only begins there.

For far too long our citizens demonstrated apathy which emboldened elected representatives to all but ignore the needs of the average American citizen in a quest for massive campaign funds and the promises of votes to be ostensibly delivered by special interest groups.

I am encouraged that more and more of us, We the People, are not willing to simply sit on the sidelines anymore!

I believe our nation’s is greatly benefited by the rich diversity of our people which is why I could never imagine living anywhere except New York City, arguably the most diverse city in our nation if not, in fact, the world.  However, my idea of diversity most certainly does not include members of MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels or members of other transnational gangs or members of al-Qaeda!

I also believe that the original purpose of our nation’s immigration laws need to be be brought “front and center” to make certain that our nation does not permit the entry of aliens into our country whose presence in our country is problematic for the citizens of our nation and that if such aliens do succeed in entering our country that our nation have the resources, integrity and dedication to do everything possible to make it impossible for such aliens to function within our country so that even if they are not apprehended, they will find it pointless to remain in the United States.
As I have noted on a number of occasions, “No one would break into the amusement park if they could not get to go on the rides and no one remains in the amusement park at the end of the day when they turn shut down the rides and turn off the lights!”

If our government’s failures to secure our nation’s borders and effectively enforce our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!

ICE HSI and PGPD arrest Maryland man wanted for 30-year-old murder in Texas

The
primary goals of our nation’s immigration laws can be distilled down
into six words:  “Save American lives and American jobs.”

Incredibly, there is a long list of politicians and high ranking
government officials on all levels of our government who actually oppose
the effective enforcement of those laws and are willing to trivialize
the importance of those laws and do whatever they can to block the
enforcement of those laws.

An ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) news release, from April 19, 2012, reports on the April 16th
arrest of Jesus Blas-Perea aka Severino Tapia Rosales, an illegal alien
from Mexico, who is wanted for allegedly committing the crime of murder
in the first degree in connection of the December 1981 murder of Jose
Santos-Duque in Houston, Texas.

It is disconcerting that the title of the ICE news release identifies
this illegal alien and alleged murderer as being a “Maryland man.”  As
has become the practice of the current administration, everything
possible is now being done to obfuscate the profound impact that illegal
immigration has on our nation including where the loss of innocent
lives are concerned.  While the alien in this case was, in fact,
residing in Maryland, he is an illegal alien from Mexico.

Next it is important to note that alleged murderer was previously
deported on two separate occasions and was able to enter the United
States notwithstanding the routine assertions about how secure our
borders are.  The question that is never asked or answered is, “How
secure is secure enough?”

The successful arrest of the murder suspect in this case was brought
about by having ICE cooperate with local police.  While there are
politicians who often claim that when local police work cooperatively
with ICE that community policing suffers, the reality is just the
opposite.  It must be presumed that the news of this arrest will provide
a strong measure of comfort to the immigrant community in which Jesus
Blas-Perea was hiding in plain sight before his arrest.

Finally it is important to understand the magnitude of the community
safety crisis that is created by having huge numbers of illegal aliens
easily gaining entry into the United States by circumventing the
inspections process that is designed to protect the lives of our
citizens.  Consider this quote from the ICE news release:

In October 2011, Operation “Found ‘Em” was initiated
by HSI Houston, to assist the Harris County, Texas, District Attorney’s
(DA) Office Fugitive and Cold Case Unit in the identification and
apprehension of suspected criminal aliens, and foreign nationals with
lawful status suspected of having committed murders in the Harris County
area.

The DA’s office has estimated that they have
approximately 800 unsolved cold murder cases dating as far back as the
1970s and that more than 50 percent of the suspects are believed to be
or were foreign nationals. The arrest of Jesus Blas-Perea is the ninth
arrest under this initiative.

In just one county in Texas, more than 400 unsolved cold murder cases
involve suspects who are believed to be or to have been “foreign
nationals.”  The phrase “have been” means that it is believed that at
least some of these foreign-born criminals have been granted lawful
status in the United States and, perhaps, even United States citizenship
after they committed the crimes for which they are being sought!

Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of Homeland Security has stated that
there is no “spillover violence” from Mexico.  Ms. Napolitano and other
members of the administration, as well as various politicians who are
happy to create “Sanctuary Cities” have stated that our immigration laws
are not important.

Election Day is rapidly approaching- any politician who refuses to
take our borders or our immigration laws seriously must be made to seek
new employment.
