It is important to remember that the First Amendment – U.S. Constitution reads as follows:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Ask most Americans to describe the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States and they are likely to mention freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion.  Many are not likely to make note of the second half of that vital amendment, the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”   .
That the Founding Fathers included that phrase in the first amendment makes it clear that they understood the true importance of discussion, debate and, if need be, arguments among the citizens of our nation to enable them to work to find common ground and consensus in pursuit of that “more perfect union.”  That is the point to “…the right of the people to peaceably assemble.”
They also made it clear that in seeking redress of grievances that the citizens of the United States had the guaranteed right to make their grievances known to those who held political power.
Nevertheless Americans are notoriously unlikely to be involved in their own government and all too often don’t vote.  Most Americans are more likely to peaceably assemble- or, perhaps, not so peaceably assemble to argue about sports and other largely inconsequential diversions than they are to discuss politics and issues pertaining to government.
If this is not bad enough, Americans have never been more divided against each other.  Democrats vs Republicans; “Conservatives” vs “Liberals,” etc.  Our country is fracturing along all sorts of perceived lines of division making honest discussions all but impossible.
This is particularly problematic where the issue of immigration is concerned.  The open borders advocates have taken to making all sorts of outrageous claims about those who oppose open borders and anarchy in the immigration system.  It has been said that when a lawyer is in court arguing a case and he/she is strong on the facts, but weak on the law, that he will pound the facts.  On the other hand, should that lawyer be weak on the facts but strong on the law, he will pound the law.
HOWEVER, when that lawyer is weak on both, he will undoubtedly pound the table!
The “open borders” / immigration anarchists know that the law, the facts, commonsense and morality are all against their position.  For them the obvious “solution” is to lie, vilify and discredit their opponents and hope that most folks will be intimidated by this deceitful tactic and not challenge them.  This is their version of “table pounding!”
Our immigration laws have nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity.  They were originally enacted to prevent the entry of aliens whose presence would be harmful to America and Americans.
Here are a couple of quotes from George Orwell, the author of “1984” the political novel that gave us such brilliant concepts as “Newspeak” and “Big Brother.”
There is  a riddle that asks, “Why did the chicken cross the road?”  We will get to the answer to that riddle shortly- meanwhile I want you to consider some additional issues (this will hopefully be thought-provoking and force you to pay attention!)
These immigration anarchists have been very successful in creating Orwellian Newspeak where immigration and related issues are concerned.  For example, they have all be stricken the term “alien” from the vernacular where the immigration debate is concerned.  Stop and consider how insane this is.  The term “alien” is not an insult.  It is not a pejorative.  The term “alien” is defined by our immigration laws as simply being, “Any person, not a citizen or national of the United States.”  The problem with this word is that it provides clarity.  The last thing swindlers want anyone to consider is honest language as they go about conning their intended victims.
They seek to declare all aliens as being “immigrants” so that if anyone dares suggest that our immigration laws be enforced they are then quick to make the utterly false assertion that these advocates for effective immigration law enforcement are “Anti-Immigrant.”  This is the foundation for my article today.
To provide another quick example about how the immigration anarchists, going back to the Carter administration employed Orwellian Newspeak, they claimed that aliens who evaded the inspections process were simply “undocumented.”  All they were supposedly missing was a piece of paper!  During that administration, INS (Immigration and Naturalizations Service) employees were warned to not refer to illegal aliens as being “illegal aliens!”  It was strongly recommended that we refer to such foreign nationals present in the United States without lawful authority as being “undocumented workers.”  This struck my colleagues and me as being contrary to our laws.  Aliens who are illegally present in the United States might be illegally present if, for example, an alien admitted as a tourist was found working illegally.  Indeed, believe it or not, in those days, if we conducted an investigation at a factory or other employment situation and found such an alien, we arrested him(her) and arranged for a deportation hearing.
What a concept!
However, aliens might also be illegally present if they evaded the inspections process by running our hordes or stowing away on a ship.  In point of fact, we referred to such aliens as being EWI (Entry Without Inspection).  I became so angry and frustrated with the Orwellian “Newspeak” we were supposed to use that I came to refer to illegal aliens as being “Pre-Citizens!”  Many of my colleagues adopted my sarcastic term, including agents across the United States and even in the Border Patrol.
None of us had any idea that 35 years later the occupant of the Oval Office would actually seek to circumvent our laws and the legislative process and turn my phrase uttered in frustration into his goal- to provide illegal aliens with a pathway to citizenship!  That level of chutzpah and betrayal could never have been imagined back then.
Of course, Obama is not alone in this- many members of Congress from both parties have become advocates for providing illegal aliens with a pathway to lawful status and, ultimately, United States citizenship!
My parents provided me with an incredible upbringing and a clear set of moral values.  Their words of wisdom still resonate in my mind and heart!  My dad used to tell me that I would determine how I would be treated when I grew up- he told me that I needed to be clear and unyielding in demonstration what sort of treatment I was willing to accept from those I interacted with.  He said that if I was treated poorly it was likely my fault for not standing up for myself and bringing that sort of “guff” to an end- quickly!
Now it is time to go back to my riddle.  But first, remember, chickens don’t always have beaks and feathers!
The reason that the chicken crossed the road was to run from confronting his (her) slanderers and tormentors.
Sometimes we need to stand up and stake out our position and demonstrate that we have a spine!  The more we allow ourselves to be pushed into a corner, the more that we embolden our adversaries to push harder and more often!
It is time for Americans to stand up and say “Enough!”
It is time for Americans to make their position crystal clear to all- especially those who were elected to represent them on the local, state and federal level!
Let me provide a bit of clarity- the difference between an immigrant and an illegal alien is comparable to the difference between a houseguest and a burglar!
Our borders and our immigration laws are our nation’s first line of defense and last line of defense against those aliens whose presence would undermine national security and  public safety.  Those laws were originally enacted to shield American workers from unfair foreign competition.
The mission of border security is to prevent aliens from circumventing the lawful inspections process that is supposed to prevent the entry of aliens deemed excludible under Title 8, United States Code, Section 1182, and include aliens who are infected with dangerous communicable diseases, suffer extreme mental illness and are prone to extreme violence or are sex offenders or are convicted felons, human rights violators, spies, terrorists, likely to become public charges or are likely to work, thereby competing unfairly with American workers and either displace American workers or drive down the wages of Americans who are employed in the United States.
America’s middle class grew under the protection of the American workforce.  As the enforcement of those laws becomes an ever more distant memory, America’s middle class and the dreams of the American Dream are similarly becoming an ever more distant memory!
This is why there is a massive push for “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”- to flood the labor pool with millions of foreign workers to drive down wages across a wide swath of the economy.  Never forget- there is always room for more oarsmen on the slave ship!
Here are a few articles I suggest you read to understand just how critical the immigration laws are:
On December 19, 2014 Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) posted my latest commentary:
The myriad ways that aliens may enter the United States either in violation of our laws and/or with the intention of violating our laws and the other ways that our immigration system is failing was my focus for my article that FrontPage Magazine posted on July 7, 2014:

On September 24, 2014 Frontpage magazine published my article:
De Blasio’s New York takes a dangerous turn.

In October 2014 Progressives For Immigration Reform published my policy brief:
video of my presentation of my policy brief at the Progressives For Immigration Reform conference in November 2014 has been posted on You Tube.
On November 10, 2014 Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) posted my latest commentary:
On July 2, 2013 the Washington Times published my Op-Ed:

Who will find the answers while there’s still time to prevent a disaster?

On June 13, 2013 I was interviewed by Neil Cavuto at Fox News on the topic:

The interview ran about 4 minutes and is worth watching.

CAPS (Californians for Population Stabilization) posted my commentary that asks the questions all Americans need to ask their political “representatives.”  My commentary is aptly titled:  “How? Why?

In his historic speech before the 3rd Army on May 31, 1944, General George S. Patton said, on the strategy of holding a position:

We’re not holding anything, we’ll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we’re not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.”

Pushing back against Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the same as holding position. The time has come for us to advance by demanding that our borders be made truly secure and our immigration laws be effectively administered and enforced.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform violates all of the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission but no one is willing to even consider how the lack of real border security and the lack of real integrity to the various components of the immigration system imperil national security and public safety.

The findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission must be the starting point for any discussion about immigration legislation.  That commission determined that a lack of border security, including the visa process. and fraud in the immigration benefits program, enabled terrorists to enter and embed themselves in the United States, as they went about their deadly preparations.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!  Simply stated, the immigration laws were enacted to save lives and protect the jobs of American workers.  In point of fact, our borders and our immigration laws are America’s first line of defense and last line of defense against international terrorists and transnational criminals.
It is not “Anti-Immigrant” to be “Pro-American!”

Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within.  The failures of the DHS to live up to its half of the equation are undermining the efforts, valor and incredible sacrifices of Americas men and women who serve in our military!
If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
