Yesterday, Wednesday, July 13 the United States Senate Judiciary Committee conducted a hearing that was entitled:
“The Violence Against Women Act, Building on Seventeen Years of Accomplishments.”
Here is the link to the Senate Judiciary Committee website that provides the prepared testimony of the witnesses and a link to a video of the hearing:
While I was not called as a witness to the hearing, I was invited by Senator Grassley’s staff to provide a written statement to be included in the record of that hearing and I am providing that statement to you below. My statement stands on its own but to make a quick point; it is vital that our leaders understand that first and foremost, the security, well being and concerns of
We the People
must be the first consideration of our government and must be demonstrated- not just through words but deeds!
A country without secure borders can no more stand than can a house without walls!
